Block printing and custom sew projects
home based in Fairbanks Alaska on Lower Tanana Dene lands
Fresh prints from Fairbanks
Hi my name is Arleigh (they/them). I am a genderqueerdo of Alsatian, Irish and Scottish heritage living on Lower Tanana Dene Lands. I am print maker, dog dad, community organizer, genderqueerdo, scientist and sewer. Through community organizing I have learned that the things you love are typically best enjoyed in community - that is something that I am trying to continuously bring into my art. I make prints based off of the world and community around me, usually while parallel playing with my friends and dogs. Public printing parties are where my art and community really come together. I love printing on people’s clothes that they bring to give them a new look and make their ideas come to life. My work is generally offered at sliding scale so that it is more accessible for more people.
In the spirit of upcycling I also mend and do custom sewing projects for folks. Something I was taught by my Nannie Carol as a kid and have been doing ever since. Sometimes my printing and sewing passions come together and have some fun.
When I am not printing, carving or mending you can catch me in a wetland with my dogs putzing or skijoring depending on the time of year
